Requirements for a successful update

Before an update can install, the following conditions must be met:

• IceViewer must be installed and the updater service must be running.
• The computer must be able to reach the Black Ice update server (www.blackice.com) through HTTPS.
• The available release must be newer and suitable for the installed IceViewer edition and computer.
• An activated IceViewer license must be eligible for the release and have an active subscription or maintenance entitlement. Demo installations may update. Manually registered or offline licenses are not updated by this service.
• There must be enough free disk space to download and run the installer.
• IceViewer, IceViewer Core, related jobs, and any other reported blockers must be closed in every local or Remote Desktop session.
• The downloaded installer must have a valid Black Ice digital signature.
