Email Providers

On the Email Providers tab, you can choose which email service Print2Email will use for sending messages. Simply select a provider, enter the required account details, and Print2Email will be configured to send emails through that service.

If Ask for the provider every time when sending an email is enabled, Print2Email will prompt you to select an email provider, enter the email account, and provide the password each time you print to the Print2Email printer.

The following providers are available:

Outlook or MAPI Compatible

Select the Outlook or MAPI Compatible client option, to use applications such as Microsoft Outlook, or Thunderbird email client for email sending. For more information, please see the Outlook or MAPI Compliant Clients and Using Print2Email with Thunderbird, or Lotus Notes sections of the manual.

NOTE: The Outlook for Windows (also referred to as “New Outlook) does not support sending emails using third-party software; therefore, it is not supported by Print2Email.

NOTE: The “Send all emails automatically to the same address” and “Prompt the User only for email address” features are not supported when using Thunderbird client.

Custom SMTP email Server

Select the Custom SMTP email Server option to use an SMTP server as an email provider. If the Custom SMTP Mail Server option was selected as the desired email provider, the SMTP Server settings appear on the right, where users can enter the required information. To read more about SMTP settings, please see the Custom SMTP email server section of the manual.

Preset Email Providers

To read about preset email providers, please see the following sections:

If Display email sent successfully message is enabled, Print2Email will show a confirmation message after an email is sent.

If Display email sending error messages is enabled, any SMTP-related errors are shown when an email fails to send.

If Use legacy MAPI for email sending (Display Outlook Security Alert Window) is enabled, Outlook’s Security Alert Window will appear. This Outlook prompt prevents third-party applications from sending emails automatically without notifying the user.

Email Format

  • HTML – Format message as HTML. HTML message can contain formatting and are compatible with most e-mail readers.
  • Plain Text – Format message as plain text. Plain text can be read by everyone but contains no formatting.
