The
Black Ice DataMatrix Barcode Reading SDK/ActiveX
toolkit is a robust and efficient library 2D DataMatrix
barcoding functions, such as reading/decoding, searching
barcodes, and detecting barcode orientation.
DataMatrix barcodes
can store large amounts of data in a small symbol,
up to a maximum 3,116 Digits or 2,335 ASCII characters.
Unlike linear (1D) barcodes, which are typically
used to store a record or account number which then
must be retrieved from a database in order to get
additional information, DataMatrix barcode symbols
can typically store all of the information associated
with a particular record. This way, using
DataMatrix barcodes, developers can eliminate database
information retrieval, and can simply read all account
details from the DataMatrix barcode symbol itself.
Developers can read barcodes
regardless of orientation, skewing or flipping.
Barcodes can be detected and read from specific
areas of interest. When combined with additional
Black Ice Imaging toolkits, barcodes can be read
from a variety of supported image file formats and
can be acquired from scanners or digital cameras.
Using
the Structured Append feature, developers can link
up to 16 data matrices logically to each other.

Document Imaging
Documents with a DataMatrix
symbols do not require OCR processing, all the information
is available from the barcode symbol.
Fax Reports
Create reports with DataMatrix
barcode symbols and fax them to a central station.
Built in error correction ensures that there is
no data loss and a Data Matrix barcode symbol is
smaller than the text itself, so fax transmission
is quicker
Medical
Eliminate database lookup by
adding DataMatrix symbols with all of the details
to a specimen or drug.

Black Ice DataMatrix Barcode Reading SDK/ActiveX
toolkit is written to be image toolkit independent,
and can be used with any Black Ice imaging toolkit,
such as the
TIFF SDK/ActiveX, the
Image SDK/ActiveX, or the
Document Imaging SDK/ActiveX. The DataMatrix
Barcode Reading SDK/ActiveX can also be used with
any third party imaging platform.
