On the Email Providers tab, one can select a provider to send the emails with. By simply selecting an Email Provider and providing the required information, the Print2Email Server can be configured to use the desired email provider.
If enabled, the Ask for the provider every time when sending an email option will prompt the user for an email provider, an email account and for a password every time when Printing to the Print2Email printer.
The following providers are available:
Outlook or MAPI Compatible
Select the Outlook or MAPI Compatible client option, to use applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, or Thunderbird email client for email sending. For more information, please see the Outlook or MAPI Compliant Clients and Using Print2Email with Thunderbird, or Lotus Notes sections of the manual.
NOTE: The “Send all emails automatically to the same address” and “Prompt the User only for email address” features are not supported when using Thunderbird, Windows Live MAPI clients.
Custom SMTP email Server
Select Custom SMTP email Server option to use an SMTP server as an email provider. If the Custom SMTP Mail Server option was selected as the desired email provider, the SMTP Server settings appear on the right where users can enter the required information. If the Display email sent successfully message option is enabled, the email confirmation message is displayed after successful sending the email.
If the Display email sending error messages option is enabled, SMTP error messages are displayed when email sending generates an SMTP error response.
If the ‘Use legacy MAPI for email sending (Display Outlook Security Alert Window)’ option is checked, it will turn on to display the Outlook Security Alert Window, which prevents third-party software to send emails automatically without user notification.
Email Format
HTML – Format message as HTML. HTML message can contain formatting and are compatible with most e-mail readers.
Plain Text – Format message as plain text. Plain text can be read by everyone but contains no formatting.
