Write Output in a Single Step

If the Write Output in a Single Step option is enabled, the printer driver generates the output file in memory first, then writes the output file in one step, so applications that monitor the output folder will not open an incomplete file.

The option is disabled by default.

Limitations of the Write Output in a Single Step feature

Supported output formats:

  • PDF
  • Compact PDF
  • Searchable PDF – OCR
  • PDF/A
  • TIFF Group 4
  • TIFF Group 3, 1 Dimension
  • TIFF Group 3, 1 Dimension, with Fillbits
  • TIFF Group 3, 2 Dimension
  • TIFF Packed
  • TIFF Lempel-Ziv & Welch
  • TIFF Uncompressed
  • TIFF for Dialogic boards
  • TIFF for NMS boards
  • TIFF for Gammalink boards

Notably, the PDF Image and TIFF JPEG formats are not supported.

The feature does not affect the Text, OCR, and Group File outputs. Only the PDF or TIFF outputs.

The Write Output in a Single Step feature is not supported if the Combine/Merge multiple documents into a single file option is turned on.

The Write Output in a Single Step feature is also not supported when using the Add Cover Page feature with a PDF output format.
