Black Ice Software is proud to announce the release of the Document Imaging SDK 12.83 with support for opening IBM MO:DCA IOCA files with the file extensions of ICA, MCA, AFP.

Several companies have large databases with legacy IBM MO:DCA IOCA files, and by using the new Document Imaging SDK, developers can now open these legacy file formats. The latest SDK comes with new high-level functions for all supported image formats, such as TIFF, JPEG, PDF (image only), PNG, DIB, GIF, IOCA, MO:DCA (image only), WMF, EMF, PCX, DCX, CLP, TGA, FAX or CALS.

Our new high-level functions determine the file format based on the file content, not the extension, so any extension can be used for the files. This new function helps developers focus on their application, rather than writing a large codebase for all file formats.

By using the new functions, developers can:

• Determine the Image Format of the image file (GetImageFormat)
• Get the number of pages in the image file (GetNumberOfImagesInFile)
• Get the image info, such as Size and Compression (GetImageInfoStructure)
• Load the pages from the image file into a DIB (LoadImageIntoDIB)

The latest Document Imaging SDK comes with further improvements for the sample applications, to better demonstrate the functionality of the SDK. The Document Imaging samples now detect the original compression and save the image with the same compression automatically. The Annotation samples now support opening JPG, GIF, and PNG images to demonstrate the sample features.

The new Document Imaging SDK version comes with support for saving images into grayscale TIFF JPEG format, and more!
