Black Ice Software is proud to announce a NEW file format feature now available in the Print2Email, allowing users to create Searchable PDFs when printing non-searchable Faxes or TIFF files to PDF!

The newly added file format name will appear as “Searchable Compact PDF - OCR (*.pdf)” under selectable file formats in the Print2Email Printer Settings. This feature is designed for customers who are using Print2Email to convert and email Faxes or Tiff Documents to PDF, adding improved accessibility and functionality to converted/achieved documents.

Print2Email version 11.70 is a recommended update to allow users to create searchable PDFs.

Another useful aspect for the new searchable file format would be when printing from Google Chrome, Edge, or Google Docs where the resulting PDF file would normally be non-searchable and not selectable. When using the “Searchable Compact PDF - OCR (*.pdf)” format the Print2Email applies Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to the file and converts the image-based text into searchable text and then automatically overlays the text on the image.
