Black Ice Software has released the TIFF Form Designer and TIFF Form Filler version 1.05!

Black Ice Software’s newest features for the Form Designer include a Barcode control that enables users to design forms with Barcodes!

Fields can be assigned to the Barcodes, which means the barcode will display the value of a specific field or fields. The barcode value is computed when the form is filled out by a user and based on the value entered by the user into the field.

For Example, when a medical form is filled out by a user the patient’s Insurance ID number or Claim Number can be paced as a barcode on the top left corner for Indexing and routing in a workflow environment.

The Barcode control can also be used for static values that the Form Filler cannot change. For example; a medical institution’s website with a logo.

Other new features:

• The Number Field can be formatted for Currency, Negative numbers, decimal places and more.
• The Control default name can be changed to a descriptive name to help users to identify or associate the control with a form specific field. For example; the text box default name of “MyTextBox_2” can be changed to “PatiantName_1.” This helps users completing the form to identify what must be filled out in each field.

The added barcode types that can be selected are:

• 2D barcodes
• QR – the most common barcode
• PDF417
• DataMatrix
• Liner 1D barcodes
• Codabar
• Code 11
• Code 3 of 9 (Code 39)
• Industrial 2 of 5
• Interleaved 2 from 5
• Matrix 2 of 5
• Plessey
• Code 128
• EAN-8
• UPC-A
• UPC-E
• And more…

Upcoming Features:

• Save Filled forms as Editable PDF. Currently users can save the form as an Image PDF which is not editable.
• Adding compact editable PDF for smaller file size.
• Adding editable PDF/A format.
