Switching between RAW and EMF Data Types

Starting with version 8.0 of the Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000 printer drivers, support for the RAW data type is included in addition to the EMF data type.  Using the RAW data type, it is possible to print from applications that cannot use the EMF data type, such as Quicken and QuickBooks.

The RAW data type also allows the EMF printers to be more reliably shared over a network.

Additionally, there are some cases where printing using the RAW datatype speeds up the printing process, however the RAW datatype is not recommended for printing large documents.  Black Ice Software recommends testing with both datatypes to determine which datatype produces the most desirable output.

To switch between the EMF and RAW data types on the EMF printer drivers, there are a few steps which must be performed.
