Codabar is a linear 1D barcode and can encode the digits from 0 through 9, six symbols (- : . $ / +), and the start/stop characters A, B, C, D, E, *, N, or T. The start/stop characters must be used in matching pairs and must not appear elsewhere in the barcode.
Codabar is used in blood banks, libraries, overnight package delivery industries, and other information-processing applications.
