The Black Ice Imaging Toolkits require a TWAIN compatible driver to be installed on the machine. We recommend checking with the manufacturer of the scanner to verify that the device is TWAIN compliant. You can also check the manufacturer site to make sure that you are using the latest driver available.
Yes - downloading the latest drivers is of course a great idea, which I did first thing.
And of course the mfr (canon) says the driver is TWAIN compiiant. Since it works well with the software they provide, they basically punted on the problem.
