Takes ~ 20 seconds before Fax call is answered ....

We are using the Brooktrout TR1034 and Black Ice software and it takes approximately 20 seconds before the Fax call is answered. How does one reconfigure to eliminate this delay? We are utilizing a VB app to handle events from the Black Ice software.

We hear no ringing on the telephone when we make an ordinary
voice call to the Brooktrout.

But, when we monitor the server as we make the call, it appears that we get a ring event,
then an answer event, and then a delay of approximately 20 seconds before hearing the fax tones.
Testing how other FAX servers operate, when we manually dial them, we get the FAX tones
almost immediately.

Our customers are complaining that their Faxes are not getting to us because of this delay.

We tried to reproduce this problem with two clean machines. There were two fresh installs of FaxC++ on both computers. There was a Brooktrout TR1034 card at the one side with a fresh install and a U.S.Robotics Faxmodem at the other machine with a fresh install as well.
Firstly, we sent a fax from the Brooktrout card to the modem. After that we made a call from a phone to the Brooktrout card.
There was no 20 seconds of silence. The progress of fax sending was continous and we heard ringing during the phone call.
Maybe the reason for this issue is the VB Sample.
You claimed that you used a VB app to handle events.
Which VB Sample was used?
