MessageCapture problem

Postby wmaw » Wed May 05, 2004 9:44 am

This is wmaw again..
I really need to know why pDevmode->InterfaceName is a empty string when application is run in c++.Net. and not with C++ 6.0???

I opened the example, c++ sample, MessageCapture, with .net. Ofcourse, I said yes to all to update the application from C++ 6.0 to C++.Net.

Then the sample is not capturing any messages from printer driver and I found out that pDevmode->InterfaceName is a empty string in .Net but not in Visual Studio 6.0.

Can anyone please tell me the reason?

Thank you

Make sure that you have UNICODE specified in the project settings. On XP/Win2000/NT systems the DEVMODE is stored in UNICODE format, the application must handle the devmode and the strings from the devmode as UNICODE.

An updated version of the RTK will be available in the next few days, with .NET 2003 projects for all of the samples.

Are you talking about to check the UNICODE specified in the Preprocessor Definintions? or is it somewhere else?

Make sure that the blicectr.dll is either in the same directory as your executable or that the DLL is in the system PATH
