Printing a watermark to a shared printer

Postby TechnicalSupportTeam » Wed Nov 16, 2005 4:57 pm

Terminology:
"local PC" and "printing PC" is the PC where you do the printing.
"remote PC" and "shared PC" is the PC which generates tiff file output.

In order to have the watermark located on the shared printer driver "remote PC", you must create a dummy file that is located on the local PC at the same path and name. The exact path and filename must be specified from the printing PC as is on the remote PC.

For example:
If the printing driver's output is: C:\Documents and Settings\User1\Desktop
the printing PC's printing preferences for the shared printer must be: C:\Documents and Settings\User1\Desktop

If the printing driver's watermark file is: C:\Documents and Settings\User1\Desktop\WatermarkImage.jpg
the printing PC's printing preferences for the shared printer must be: C:\Documents and Settings\User1\Desktop\WatermarkImage.jpg
and a fake WatermarkImage.jpg must be created. The "WatermarkImage.jpg" file does not have to be the actual image file but must exist.
