Using Install application with VB install app

I modified the VB version of the installation app to install two copies of the print driver.

When I print the "Test Page" from the print driver itself is it fine. However, when I select the print driver from Office Product, Lotus Notes, etc, the CPU is maxed out.

Any ideas?

We have not had any similiar reports from any of our customers nor have we been able to reproduce this issue in house.

We recommend starting with the unmodified VB install included with the RTK. This sample has been thoroughly tested and will correctly install the Black ice printer driver on the system.

Modify the sample one step at a time and check each step to ensure that you haven't accidentally introduced a mistake into your install

It turns out that it was a naming problem. If you have a printer name with special characters, for example in this particular case it was ( ). The printer driver goes crazy. After I changed the name of the printer to something without those characters, it was ok.

There is nothing which would prevent you from including parenthesis in the printer name. The Black Ice demo drivers use parenthesis, for example Black Ice Color (Demo).

If you can email techsupport@blackice.com with the exact string that you used as well as any steps to reproduce this issue we can have our engineers investigate further.
