Do I need a different version of the Resource kit to capture messages from the terminal services driver?


Problem Description:
The TS driver does not appear to be firing any of the _doc events with the ocx I use with the XP driver.
Solution:
Each printer driver has a different Resource Toolkit (RTK). On terminal servers the printer driver communicates with the applications through a named pipe interface. The window messages cannot be used on terminal servers.

The pipe interface is handled through the BliceCtr.dll and through the BiPrnDrv.ocx for terminal servers. Both controls are located in the RTK

The pipe interface is also supported by the NT drivers, therefore if you develop an application using the pipe interface, the application will work with both the terminal server and the NT drivers. In order to change the existing NT application to use the pipe interface only minor modifications are needed in your code. The RTK contains sample applications to show how to use the pipe interface.
