The Black Ice printer drivers allow users to redirect a print job to save a printed document to one or more files. When the Black Ice printer is used and a print job is sent from a program, the information that was sent to the printer is saved to one or more files, based on the settings set on the File Formats tab of the Black Ice printer.
If the file format specified in the Black Ice printer is a multipage file format (TIFF, DCX, PDF, etc.) then all of the printed pages can be saved as a single, multipage file by checking the Create Multipage Image checkbox.
To save each printed page as a separate file
1. Navigate to the File Formats tab
2. Uncheck the Create Multipage Image checkbox.
To save each every printed page into a single file (must be a multipage file format, such as TIFF)
1. Navigate to the File Formats tab
2. Check the Create Multipage Image checkbox.
You can also append the current multi-page file to an existing multi-page file by doing the following:
1. Navigate to the File Name Generation tab
2. From the Filename Generation Method dropdown box, select an exact filename generation option, such as Exact Filename.
3. Specify a filename and extension.
4. Check the Keep Existing File option.
Please note that if you are saving multi-page material into separate files, the file name entered in the Filename box serves as a base file name. The file name is created by appending a number to the file name for each page saved. For example, if the Filename box is set to image.tif and the material will be saved to separate files, the material on the first page will be saved in image0001.tif. The material on the second page will be saved in image002.tif, and so on.
You can use the printed document name as a base name for the output files. To use this, select the "Use the Document Name" from the Filename Generation Method dropdown box.
