Black
Ice Software is proud to announce the latest
addition to our industry leading printer driver
product line; the new ColorPlus printer driver. The
new ColorPlus printer driver builds upon existing
Black Ice technology which has been used by
companies across the globe for capturing and
converting printjobs from any Windows based
application into raster or vector file formats.
The new
ColorPlus printer driver combines the features of
the two most popular Black Ice printer drivers; the
Black Ice Color Printer Driver and the PDF Printer
Driver. Using the new ColorPlus printer driver,
developers can convert any printable file into a
variety of image formats, including JPEG, PDF, TIFF,
and many more, all from a single Black Ice printer
driver.
Like all
Black Ice printer drivers, the new ColorPlus driver
includes a variety of powerful features, many of
which are not available in any other printer driver
product on the market. Some of the key features
include
· Messaging
Interface sends messages related to the printing
status at every Start of Document, Start of Page,
End of Page and End of Document.
· Start
Application Launch an application when printing is
started or once printing has finished
· Command
line argument passing pass command line parameters
to the application launched by the Black Ice
printer, including, document name, printer name,
orientation, multipage file, and a custom parameter
which can be any string up to 64 characters long
· Watermark
add a watermark to each image created using the
driver. Great for adding company logos, etc.
· Embed
Annotation dynamically annotate generated images
with a variety of information including date and
time, document name and more
· Programmatically
Convert Files convert any printable file into a
PDF, TIFF or JPEG without any user interaction.
Using
features such as the Profile Manager of the Black
Ice printer drivers or by installing multiple
instances of the Black Ice printer drivers on a
single system, the ColorPlus printer driver can be
presented in an efficient, user friendly manner to
allow even the most novice end user the ability to
print to a specific filetype which meets the target
application’s specific requirements. For example,
one profile/instance of the ColorPlus printer driver
could be configured to create full color PDF files
for document archiving, while a separate
printer/profile can be used for creating Group 4
TIFF files for faxing.
The
release version of the Black Ice ColorPlus printer
driver includes its own unique resource toolkit
which contains a variety of sample applications and
utilities, as well as an extensive API of over 350
functions, allowing developers to programmatically
set and get any setting of the ColorPlus printer
driver.
The new
ColorPlus printer driver allows developers to work
with a single Black Ice printer driver when
previously, developers needed to license, maintain
and configure two separate drivers (the Black Ice
PDF and Color printer drivers) for a given target
operating system.
The new
ColorPlus printer driver is available as two
separately licensed products, one for Windows
NT/2000/XP and a second for Windows 2003, Windows
Terminal Servers and Citrix. Like all Black Ice
printer drivers, the new ColorPlus printer drivers
are royalty free, allowing developers to distribute
as many copies of their applications which utilize
the ColorPlus driver and they never have to pay
runtime fees.
