The Searchable Compact PDF file format allows users to generate searchable PDF files from non-searchable documents (Image PDF, TIFF, or other image-based documents). In addition to searchability, in searchable PDF files, the text can be selected and copied from the generated PDF document.
To navigate to the PDF Settings, go to the File Formats tab, select the Searchable Compact PDF file format and click PDF settings…
The PDF settings… button on the File Formats tab displays a dialog that allows the user to specify a number of settings for the printed PDF document. The PDF settings… button is only enabled if the selected file format is PDF.
