The Detect space in text feature automatically detects the space characters between the EMF records from the input document, and inserts the spaces between the appropriate words in the text output. Text arrives to the Printer Driver in the form of EMF records. Whether an EMF record received by the printer driver contains a single letter, word or a whole line depends on the printing application. In some cases the printing application might omit space characters from the end of the EMF records, or omit space characters completely. When space characters are omitted, the printer driver has to detect where to insert space characters into the text output based on the positioning of the characters. The “Detect space in text” option controls this detection.
Possible options:
Automatic option detects the space characters automatically, and inserts the spaces between the EMF records in the generated text output if necessary. This option is useful if the printing application only omits space characters at the end of EMF records, or does not omit space characters. This is the recommended option.
Always add spaces option inserts space characters between every EMF record. This option is useful if the application sends each word in a separate EMF record, omitting spaces from the end of the records.
Never add spaces option does not insert space characters. This option is useful if the printing application does not omit space characters.
Add space in records option always adds space characters between records, and the driver also detects space characters between words, that are sent by the printing application as a single EMF record. This option is useful if the printing application sends whole lines in a single EMF records, omitting all space characters.
