Installing Print2Email

 

Please note: You must have an active Internet connection to install and register the Print2Email. In order to install Print2Email, the installing user must have administrative privileges for the computer, and must be installing from the local computer itself.

 

  1. Go to the directory that you downloaded the program file to and double click on Print2EmailSetup.exe.  The following screen will appear:

              Click Next to proceed.

     

  2. The next screen contains the Black Ice License Agreement. After reading this license agreement, if you agree, please select the “I accept the terms of the license agreement” to continue.

  3. On the next window, you have the option of installing Print2Email for all users or just the current user:

    Press Next to continue.

  4. On the following screen, specify where Print2Email will be installed, using the Browse button, or go with the default installation path.

    Press Next to continue.

     

  5. Choose output directory on the next screen. Users should have write permission to the output folder. Environment variables can be used in the output path.

  6. The following window allows you to specify the name of the Program Folder that Print2Email will be listed under. Type in a new folder name if desired.
    Press Next to continue.  Setup will now copy the program files to your computer.

    Press Next to continue.

     

  7. The following dialog box will now appear and prompt you for the file type for the image attachments.  Make your selection and press Next to continue. Please note: you can change the image type at any time using the ‘Printer settings’ in the Control Center.  Please see the following screen shot.

    Press Next to continue.

     

  8. The following screen will present options to configure what Print2Email should use as the default E-mail provider. You can configure these options later in the Print2Email Control Center.

     

    Choosing the Ask me every time for an E-mail provider check box, will prompt on each print for a provider, username and password.

     

    If the Set as default for all users option is selected, then the setting will apply to all users on the computer not only for the Administrator who is installing.

     

    If emailing of the printed document is not required, choose the Document conversion without email option.

     

    If emailing of the converted document is required there are three options:

     

    1. MAPI compatible: Print2Email will send printed documents with a MAPI compatible email application, for example Windows Live Mail.

       

       

    2. Preset E-mail Provider: Print2Email will send printed documents through one of the selected preset E-mail providers, for example Gmail.

       

      If one want’s to sign into their account after installation it can be done by navigating through ‘E-mail Setting’ in the Control Center. If one would like to sign-in now uncheck ‘Set as default for all users.’

       

      With ‘Set as default for all users’ unchecked one can provide an E-mail address and Password to use for the desired email account. For more information on configuring a Microsoft Exchange account please refer to How to set up an Exchange Account.

       

    3. SMTP Mail Server: Print2Email will send printed documents through an SMTP server.

     

    Click on the Configure SMTP settings… button to configure SMTP server settings. For more information regarding the SMTP server settings, please refer to the SMTP settings section in the manual.

  9. If Microsoft Office is installed on the system, the option will come up to install the Print2Email Office Add-In component:

    Choose Yes to install the Print2Email Office Add-in. The office Add-in installation wizard will start.

  10. In the next step you can select to which Office product should the Print2Email toolbar be added:

    11. When the Setup is complete the Print2Email Software will prompt the user with several options including the following:

    a.    Place a Print2Email Server Program Shortcut on the Desktop

    b.    Start Print2Email Server when I start Windows

    c.    Install a Free Black Ice Tiff Viewer

    Please select the desired settings and then Press Next to continue.

     

    Press Next to continue.

     

  11. A dialog will appear confirming that the evaluation version of Print2Email has successfully registered over the internet.

    If the registration of the evaluation version of Print2Email is not successfully finished, please read the Failed Registration of the evaluation version of Print2Email section.

     

     

  12. Click Finish to complete the installation.

If the installer asks for restarting, please restart your computer before using the Print2Email.
