Sending and receiving faxes

 

The Impact Fax Client works similar to Microsoft Outlook. Users can send or receive a fax the same as sending e-mail messages.

 

After starting the Impact Fax Client, the following window opens:

 

 

The application window above contains one open Profile window. You can have one or more profile windows open at the same time. Each Profile window lets you to send and receive faxes using different user accounts located on one or more Impact Fax Servers.

 

For example, you can have an account named Office and a different user account named Personal on the same computer. In this case, two different Profiles should be created. One will contain information for the Office account and the other contains information for the Personal Account.

 

To open a new Profile window, select Open Profile from the File menu.  The following window will open:

 

 

The Profile name combo box contains all the Profile names that were created. 

In the dialog box above, the When starting Impact Fax Client, use this profile combo box is checked. As a result, the currently selected Profile is the Default profile. When the program starts, the default profile will automatically open.

 

Select the Profile name you want to use and press OK, the profile window will open.

 

Every Profile window contains a Folder View and a Message List View.

The Folder View contains four different folders: Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items and Deleted Items.

 

·      Inbox: contains fax messages received from the Fax Server. These could be received faxes or sent fax confirmations from the Fax Server.

·      Outbox: contains fax messages that are currently being sent.

·      Sent Items: contains fax messages that have been sent.

·      Deleted Items contains messages deleted by the User. If a message is deleted from one of the Impact Fax Client Folders (Inbox, Outbox or Sent Items), the message is moved to the Deleted Items folder. If a message is deleted from the Deleted Items folder, the deleted message can not be recovered again.

 

To add a new folder to the folder list, highlight where you want the new folder and select New Folder from the File menu.  When the New Folder dialog box appears, enter the name of the new folder and click OK.

 

 

To delete the existing folder, highlight the folder and select Delete from the File menu or press the Delete toolbar button.

 

To rename the folder, highlight the folder and select Rename from the File menu. When the following dialog box appears, enter the new folder name:

 

 

Please Note:

New folder names must be unique.

You can not delete or rename the four basic folders (Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items) and the root folder (Impact Client).

 

The Message List View displays the content of the currently selected Folder. The User can select a Folder by clicking on the name of the folder.

 

Each line in the Message List View represents a fax message. The User can view the message by double-clicking on it.

 

To delete a Fax message, highlight the message by clicking on it and press the Delete button or select Delete from the File menu.

 

To move or copy the selected fax messages, click Move or Copy from the Edit menu. The following dialog box will appear:

 

 

From the tree list of the dialog box, select the destination folder and press OK.
