Sending Faxes from any Application

A fax can be sent from any application simply by printing to the ‘Impact Outlook Client’ printer.

Printing will start a small executable that logs into the Windows Messaging Subsystem and automatically creates an empty fax message with the file you printed attached to it. All you have to do is enter the destination number and the subject and send the fax.  However, before you print, make sure that you are connected to the server through a dial-up modem connection or through the local network.

After printing, the logon procedure will use the profile and password that you specified during the installation. Later you can change these values in the ‘Connection’ property sheet of the ‘Black Ice Fax Service’ by clicking on the ‘Set Auto Profile’ button. If you leave the profile name empty, the default profile will be used.

If you accidentally specify a wrong profile name, the standard profile selection dialog box will appear before the fax form opens.  Here you can select which profile you would like to use. If you do not see this dialog, it may be behind one of the other windows. As such, you should minimize every application window.
