The Impact Fax Server Stand Alone Clientcan be installed using the Impact Fax Server CD-ROM or the downloadable executable file.
Installing the Impact Fax Client involves adding several system components (for example, the printer driver or MAPI transport service) to your computer. As a result, you must have Administrator rights to successfully set-up the product.
1) Double click on the cmpsrv.exe file that was downloaded to your computer.
2) Click on setup when the welcome dialog box appears.
3) The following screen will appear with several installation options.
4) Click on ‘Impact Fax Server Standalone Client’ to begin the installation. The following window will appear, press Next to proceed:
5) Read the Black Ice Software, Inc. license agreement and click ‘Yes’ if you accept the agreement. Otherwise, click ‘No’ to cancel the installation
6) The program now will ask if you want to create start menu icons for the current user or all users. Choose one according to your goal.
7) Than the following window will be displayed:
You should enter the IP Address of the machine running the Impact Fax Server. The Impact Fax Server itself should be installed before installing the client software. If you need assistance determining the IP address of your server, please contact your system administrator.
8) The following dialog box will appear asking what directory you want to install the Impact Fax Client into.
A default directory will be automatically selected; however a different directory can be specified by clicking the ‘browse’ button. When you are satisfied with the directory, click Next to continue.
9) A new dialog box will appear asking for the name of the program folder that will contain the Impact Fax Client program icons. ‘Impact Fax Server Client’ will be added by default; however the name can be changed or an existing program group can be used. To change the name of the file, type the desired name in the field that contains the ‘Impact Fax Server Client’ text or select an existing file by clicking on the file name in the ‘Existing Folders’ field. Press Next to continue
11) Setup will copy files to your computer and the following window appear:
Press Next to continue.
12) A window will come up to remind you about the manual.
13) Setup is now complete. When the final window appears, click on Finish to exit the installation program.
