This menu option allows the user to select an annotation object to be placed upon the image. There are several choices of annotation objects.
White Out- Allows the user to click and drag to create an opaque white box used to obscure anything below it in the image file.
HiLite- Allows the user to click and drag to create a transparent box with color specified in the Color menu item. Items below the hilited section will be displayed with a transparent colored background.
Note- Allows the user to click and drag to create an opaque box with color specified in the Color menu item. The user can input text as desired into this box. The user can choose whether or not they want the Note to have an opaque background by checking the Opaque Background menu item.
Line-- Allows the user to click and drag to create a thin, straight line with a specified color in the Color menu item and with a specified width under the Line Width menu item. The type of line can be specified in the Line Type menu item. The line is opaque and will cover objects beneath it.
Rectangle-- Allows the user to click and drag to create a thin, unfilled rectangle with color specified in the Color menu item and with a width specified under the Line Width menu item. The rectangle borders are opaque and will cover objects beneath it.
Rounded Rectangle-- Allows the user to click and drag to create a thin, unfilled rounded rectangle with color specified in the Color menu item and with a width specified under the Line Width menu item. The rectangle borders are opaque and will cover objects beneath it.
Ellipse-- Allows the user to click and drag to create a thin, straight line with color specified in the Color menu item and with a width specified under the Line Width menu item. The ellipse borders are opaque and will cover objects beneath it.
Text- Allows the user to click and drag to create a text box. The text will have the color specified in the Color menu item.
Freehand- Allows the user to click and drag to create a freehand line. The line will have the color specified in the Color menu item.
Bitmap Stamp-- Allows the user to stamp a bitmap onto the TIFF image.
Rubber Stamp- Allows the user to use a predefined rubber stamp to annotate with. The list of rubber stamps are shown below:

Embed Metafile- Allows the user to stamp a bitmap onto the TIFF image.
