1. Make a backup of the existing fax server directory.
2. Make a copy of the Impact Fax Server.ini file from the old machine that is located in the Windows System32 directory. This contains the system settings so that they can be restored (rename it as well).
3. Remove the Fax Server from the clean or new machine (if it is installed).
4. Copy the entire Fax Server installation directory from the old computer to the exact location in the new computer. For example, c: fax server to c: fax server.
5. Start the new install on the new computer.
6. Specify the same installation directory that was on the old computer.
7. Move the copy of the Impact Fax Server.ini file back into the Windows System32 directory and rename it back to Impact Fax Server.ini. (overwrite the existing file).
This way all of the dlls and program files will be overwritten and updated. However, the user database and settings will not be touched.
